Jen McNutt graduated from the University of Alberta with a Masters in Physical Therapy in 2009 and moved to the Kootenays shortly after to start a career and family.
At Blackbird, Jen sees clients for injuries and pain throughout the body, with a focus on pelvic health. She takes a whole-person approach to care, incorporating a variety of treatment modalities tailored to each client’s goals. She has a particular interest in how hormonal changes affect injury and recovery, in both women and men.
Jen’s training includes orthopaedic manual therapy, Gunn IMS, functional movement, visceral manipulation, and pain science. She became a certified hand therapist in 2017 and continues to expand her practice with ongoing professional development.
She also holds a diploma in Canine Rehabilitation and runs Kootenay Canine Rehab and Therapaw Canada, providing physiotherapy and supportive braces for pets.
A former competitive figure skater with a background in gymnastics and dance, Jen brings firsthand knowledge to her work with artistic athletes. Outside the clinic, she enjoys trail running, snowboarding, strength training, and spending time with her kids and pets.
